President - Sabrina Burt RDH, CDTC, CDAII

Seven years as a Dental Assistant, originally from Sarnia Ontario, Sabrina came to the Kitchener-Waterloo area after graduating dental hygiene at the Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in Hamilton.  She joined the Waterloo-Wellington Dental Hygienist's Society in 2009 to fulfill her love for continuing education. Her passion for organization has made her an excellent asset to our society.  She is a current member of the CDHA, ODHA, and ODAA.  Her contributions to our organization are: Generating continuing education newsletters and handouts, signing in members at the society meetings, website production and maintenance, organization of meetings and she’s part of the creative team for guest speakers.  When Sabrina is not fighting periodontal disease she likes to hang out in what she calls her “female cave” her mini dental antique museum.  Sabrina enjoys dental history and is a fanatic about collecting and preserving dental antiques.

If you are a Dental Hygienist and seeking continue education and are interested in meeting others like yourself we encourage you to join our society. To become a member of our society please email us and we will send you updates of local events/lectures being held by our society.

Her contributions to our organization are: Accounting, charitable donations, signing in members at the society meetings, and she is part of the creative team for guest speakers.

Graduated from Cambrian College in 1998. Currently working in Kitchener in the same practice for nearly 20 years. As well as volunteering with the Society, I’m currently of the ODHA Board of Directors. As a dental Hygienist I strive and promote our profession to other professional and the public. I believe its important to continue with our education to be current and ahead of the tends and practices. I hope that we are meeting the needs of our society with the courses and con ed that we provide. I also enjoy travelling and spending time on Netflix!

I graduated from Fanshawe College from Dental Assisting in 1981, and Dental Hygiene in 1983. I work 5 days a week in a busy family practice in Waterloo. In my off time, I enjoy Junior A hockey, downhill skiing, and travelling. Some of my extended trips include 8 weeks on a kibbutz in Israel, 8 weeks in Australia and Japan, and a 4 week safari in East Africa. I have attended 2 International Dental Hygiene Symposiums-one in Sydney Australia in 2001, and one in Ottawa in 1989. I was on the WWDHS executive as treasurer from 1983-85, and have been the coordinator of the "adopt-a-road" program since 2002. If you are interested in volunteering for the "adopt-a-road" program, please come and see me at a meeting or ConEd.
